Amber Ghent M.Mus, ABME

 

Versatile musician and pedagogue, Amber Ghent performs with the Madawaska Quartet, teaches cello students from Newfoundland to Whitehorse, and gives body mapping lessons and workshops to performers, educators, and students of all ages. 

With the quartet she has performed and recording a wide range of repertoire, appearing at major venues throughout Canada including Festival of the Sound, the Toronto Royal Conservatory’s Koerner Hall, the Elora Festival, and the Indian River Festival in P.E.I.  She has also performed with a variety of ensembles, including Tapestry New Opera, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Orchestra London, and held the position of assistant principal of the Erie Philharmonic.

Amber earned a Bachelor’s in Music Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University under the tutelage of Paul Pulford and the Penderecki String Quartet.  After studies in San Francisco with Bonnie Hampton, she completed her Masters in Performance with members of the Cleveland orchestra.
